Women’s Medical Mission to Kensington

Help GraceBuilt Church make a difference in the drug epidemic wreaking havoc across our region.  Our GraceBuilt Women’s Ministry is sending a group of women volunteers to help at a free medical clinic in Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia — an area ravaged by drug abuse.   We will come alongside The Rock Ministries, which permanently serves the Kensington Avenue area with a church, a medical clinic, youth activities, and discipleship programs.

What To Expect

Friday we will travel to and lodge at the Rock Ministries on Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia.  Saturday will be dedicated to opening the Medical Clinic to all who need care from those living on the streets.  Volunteers who have medical experience will work with patients, those without medical experience will be invited to help however they can: inviting patients, praying with individuals, supporting the medical clinic with cleaning or organizing, etc..  Sunday we will worship with the local community at Calvary Chapel Kensington before driving home.  We will lodge both nights and eat on-site in the facilities of the Rock Ministries.            

Who

Adult women with medical training are invited.  Women who are not a part of our church are also invited.  Women without a medical background but have a heart to serve are also invited to help with such things as: inviting the Kensington community, engaging and praying with patients, and supporting the medical facility however we can be of help. 

When & Where

• We will drive vans and carpool to The Rock Ministries; 2755 Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134.  
• We leave GraceBuilt Church promptly at 3 pm, May 2nd.  Please arrive 15 minutes early to the church parking lot.  
• We plan to return GraceBuilt at roughly 6 pm, May 4th

What To Bring

• A desire to serve God and His people.
• An overnight bag (towel, change of clothes, toiletries, sleeping bag, pillow.)  There are cots available on site, but if you’d like to bring a blow up mattress, feel free. 
• Shoes appropriate for work.
• A Bible
• Food or fast food money for the drive up and the drive back.
