Discover a Portrait of our Lord: Man of Sorrows
The other day I saw a list on the internet that startled me, it listed the world’s most popular leaders through history world-wide. It included names like: Gandhi, Lincoln, and I’m not kidding you, Fauci, but no Jesus. After my shock died down, I changed the search. Instead of asking the “greatest leader” of all time, I wrote “most influential.” Jesus popped up top of the list. Some leaders have power, other have love. Jesus influenced the world, changed the hearts of all who followed Him, not through power, but love. In today’s portrait of Christ we will find Jesus’ love is the most precious of all. It is not found, primarily, in a gift-giving, or expressive words, or time-together, though He loves you in all of those ways. But those form of love can’t reveal the depth of God’s love for you. Jesus wins our hearts by His sacrificial love. Today we find Jesus the Man of Sorrows.
