Finding Strength In an Age of Weakness

Research says muscle takes three things. Lifting — but only if you push to the point it gets hard. Protein — which most Americans don’t get enough of, because our plates are full of carbs. And sleep, seven to nine hours, since that’s when three quarters of your growth hormone is released. You can train and eat right and still get nowhere if you won’t clear your schedule to rest.

Now ask it about your soul.

Was there a season when your faith was growing — when the disciplines came easy and you felt strong? And now you’re just tired?

The three things that build a body are the same three that build a believer. In 1 Kings we watch Elijah live all three. My prayer is that God starts that work in you today.
