Prepare Your Heart For God or Gold

What do you prepare for every day?
If someone had to sum up your life in one sentence, what would they say?
Here’s a harder question. What if you were the son of the wisest man who ever lived? What if you grew up a prince in the richest nation on earth?
Would that make your life easier? Or harder?
You’d think easier. Every door open. Every advantage handed to you before you could walk.
The Bible sums up that prince’s life in one sentence. Rehoboam, son of Solomon. First Chronicles puts it this way — he failed to prepare his heart to seek the Lord.
That’s it. That’s the whole verdict. Not “he lost a war.” Not “he lost half a kingdom.” He never got his heart ready in the first place.
So ask yourself the same question today. If someone wrote your sentence right now, what would it say?
And if you could choose it — if you could write your own verdict — what would you want it to be?
