Rediscover the Wonder of God in His Son | Bible Study Judges 13:8

In the Bible, names mean everything. Think about Moses, which means ‘draw out’; or Jacob, which means ‘tricky’. Their names were more than sounds, they taught the world how to think of them, and how to remember them. Don’t you remember Moses drawing His people out of slavery, or Jacob tricking himself and his family in and out of disasters? In the same way, Judges teaches us a way to think about and remember Jesus— Mr. Wonderful. He will not be put in a box; we cannot put Him under a thumb; He will not fit in a dusty cultural paradigm, or an academic ivory tower. We must wonder at Him. And if a man thinks of Him and is not in awe of Him, then he is not thinking of Him at all, but thinking of ideas, concepts, and systems— stuff that man makes, not God. I’d like to introduce to you Mr. Wonderful. He is beyond our understanding, and that’s okay. Actually, it’s really good.
